Moulin Rouge

Last night, I watched Moulin Rouge for the very first time. All of my friends and family said it was an amazing movie and if I didn't watch it, I was insane. So, I watched it. And it was fantastic. I listened to the soundtrack of the movie while growing up, so when songs came on that I knew, I could sing right along with them. Ewan McGregor did a wonderful job playing Christian who was a writer that had moved to France to be inspired. Nicole Kidman is one of my favorite actresses and she also had an amazing performance. The movie is all color and music, sound and motion, and kinetic energy. It was nonstop motion and music. I really like how they sang their own versions of modern day songs, like Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Elton John's "Your Song." Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman both did their own singing for the movie and I love their voices. The best scene in the movie is when one of Christian's actor friends sings the song "Roxanne". It was pretty intense. I give this movie 5 stars out of 5 because I think that I could watch this movie over and over again and not ever get tired of it.
