Whip It

"With "Whip It," her remarkable debut as a director, Drew Barrymore proves that she is just as perky, quirky and talented behind the camera as in front of it." This was an AWESOME movie. I love love love Ellen Page who played the main character Bliss in this movie. Basically, this whole movie was about how Bliss didn't like being the pageant girl her mom wanted her to be so she secretly signs up to join the Dallas roller skating derby. It's a problem, though, because Bliss is only 16 and you have to be 21 to join up, but in the long run everything pretty much ends up fine. Bliss makes the team, gets a boyfriend, breaks up with a boyfriend, and gets to beat up other girls on the roller derby teams. This was a typical "follow-your-dream" movie but follow-your-dream movies are my favorite. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 stars!
